The Vax VX28 packs a punch considering its under $150. It comes with a 2.5L bin capacity, 2000W of power, 6m cord length, HEPA filter and its bagless. The reason this really stands out for a cheap vacuum cleaner is that its bagless and includes a HEPA filter. Typically vacuums with these features tend to be more expensive.

It also provides you with a nice 2 year warranty and gets a overall review rating from productreview.com.au of 4.7 stars out of 5 over 16 reviews which is incredible as most handheld vacuums tend to get bad reviews. It is a little more expensive then we liked, however for the price the quality and performance is spot on.
3. Bissell 1521F Powerlifter Pet Vacuum Cleaner

Upright vacuums are typically more expensive then barrel, handheld and stick vacuums, however the Bissell 1521F at $187 is a very cheap vacuum
for an upright. This vac gives you a 2-year warranty, 6m cord length and works great with pet hair with its triple-action brush roll. This cheap vacuum also gets extremely great reviews. From 2 reviews on productreview.com.au the average score is 5.0 out of 5.0. Kogan.com.au also has 26 reviews with an average score 4.6 stars out of 5. Overall if you’re looking for a cheap upright vacuum
cleaner and have pets you cannot look past this one.
4. Vax Barrel Power Plus VPP1600P
The Vax VPP1600P is a great buy if looking for buy something a little more expensive than the VX28 however still considered a cheap vacuum. For under $300 this little guy packs a punch, this vacuum gives you a HEPA filter, 3 litres of capacity, 1600W of power, 8m cord length, and an extremely impressive 3 year warranty. Reviews for the VPP1600P vary from different sources, appliancesonline.com.au reviews give it an average of 4.9 stars out of 5 from 27 reviews which is fantastic, however from productreview.com.au the average of 2.2 stars out of 5 from 23 reviews.
5. Bissell Stick 2 in 1 Cordless 1312F
The Bissell 1312F is a great cheap vac considering it’s a 2 in 1. This vacuum will give you 18 Volts of power, foam filter, various surface fixtures and a 2 year warranty. These are perfect for those living in small apartments or homes who vac often and hence never really need to do a heavy clean. This also gets great reviews from the Bissell website with an average 3.9 stars out of 5 with 78 reviews.
